Join the Windows Live Messenger badge program

Windows Live has valued the collaboration with the causes from the i’m program and have invited them to participate in the new Windows Live badge program. Several of the causes are participating in the launch of the badge program. We invite you to get a badge to show your support next to your Messenger name!

Here's how to get a badge:

  1. Download the new Windows Live Messenger Beta
  2. Click on your name in the upper right hand corner
  3. Select “Personalize” and then “Change your badge”
  4. Add the badge or badges of your choice
  5. If you select “Share my support with friends,” you can add your own message in the box to share a personal message about the badge with your friends

The badge will be displayed next to your name in Messenger. Furthermore, a link is shared in the Social mode. Here are the organizations that have participated in the i’m initiative and now have a badge available:

How to remove your i’m logo

In Messenger:
  • Click on your name in the main Messenger window
  • Click the "change display name" link
  • Delete the i’m logo in the "type your name as you want others to see it" box
In Hotmail:
  • Click the Options link in the top right
  • Click more options
  • Click on personal email signature under the Customize your mail header
  • Delete the *cause name information
In Personal Status Message:
  • Click on your Personal Status Message
  • Delete the *cause name code
